The PhD student will initiate and conduct a doctoral research project affiliated with an Australian Research Council funded 3-year Discovery Project, Schooling, Parenting and Ethnicity: Asian Migration and Australian Education. Chief Investigators are Professors Megan Watkins and Greg Noble (WSU) and Associate Professor Christina Ho (UTS). The ARC Discovery project involves a comparative analysis of families’ approaches to education, examining how ethnicity, SES and other factors affect parenting choices in relation to education. Its goal is to understand the impact of migration and cultural diversity on Australian education and the factors underpinning the relations between parenting and schooling.
