AHA members and recipients of the Allan Martin Award Peter Hobbins (2018) and Ruth Morgan (2016)have described their experiences of the Award in a new blog entry on the AHA ECR blog which can be viewed here. Peter writes “winning the Allan Martin Award helped change my practice as a historian in two major ways”, while Ruth recounts how “the Allan Martin Award offered a lifeline of sorts, because it provided the means to get my first post-PhD project off the ground and into the archives”. The Allan Martin Award provides funding to Early Career Researchers to assist towards the expenses of a research trip undertaken in support of a project in Australian history.
