The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to a vibrant research group and a new History major currently being prepared. In broad terms, Deakin’s desire to provide dynamic and engaging learning experiences is focused on the making of the modern world, interpreted through different thematic and geographic lenses. Areas of special interest for this appointment include, but are not restricted to, applied/public history, economic history, environmental history, Indigenous histories, the history of science/medicine, modern Asia, modern Africa, and contemporary European history.
