This position is funded through the Hansen Trust, which has been established to transform the teaching of History at the University of Melbourne. The Hansen Trust aims to develop and instil a passion for History in students and the broader community, to deepen student engagement with their learning, to emphasise the importance and relevance of this field of study, and to support a range of initiatives in the Faculty of Arts to build excellence and innovation in teaching and learning programs. The Hansen Lecturer will be a History specialist in an area of 20th century world, global, or international history. Preference may be given to applicants with the experience in teaching classes in world history since 1945 and the history of international relations with an emphasis on the 20th century. The appointee will develop new areas of teaching, research, and research training, as well as support existing programs.
