Congratulations to the shortlisted candidates of the 2023 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards. The Australian history shortlist included AHA members Rohan Lloyd (Saving the Reef: The Human Story Behind One of Australia’s Greatest Environmental Treasures) and Shannyn Palmer (Unmaking Angas Downs: Myth and History on a Central Australian Pastoral Station). The judges celebrated the Rohan’s ‘understanding, respect and willed optimism’ in Saving the Reef, and the ‘model of engaged listening and interwoven truth-telling’ that Palmer offers in Unmaking Angas Downs. Winners of the 2023 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards will be announced on Thursday 16 November. Congratulations and best of luck, Rohan and Shannyn!
