The winners for this year’s Prime Minister’s Literary Awards have been announced, which celebrate outstanding literary talent in Australia. Congratulations to Tiffany Shellam for winning the 2020 Australian History category of the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards for Meeting the Waylo: Aboriginal Encounters in the Archipelago (UWA Publishing, 2020).
Congratulations to Margaret Cook for winning the Royal Historical Society of Queensland and the Professional Historians Association (Queensland) John and Ruth Kerr Medal for distinction in historiography, historical research and writing Australian history.
Congratulations to Clare Wright, whose essay “How the Dark Gets In” (Meanjin, August 2020) has been selected for the Grattan Institute’s Summer Reading List for the Prime Minister.
Congratulations to Tim Sherratt, whose GLAM Workbench has won the British Library Labs Research Award for 2020. This particular project developed a range of tools, examples, and documentation to help researchers use and explore the vast historical resources available through web archives.
