Book Launch, ‘Urning: Queer Identity in the German Nineteenth Century’

Online, 18 April 2024, 7.00pm AEST

Join Douglas Pretsell for the online launch of Urning: Queer Identities in the German Nineteenth Century. The book reconstructs and describes the world of the men in German speaking Europe who took on the neologism ‘urning’, proposed by Hanoverian lawyer Karl Heinrich Ulrichs in 1864, as a personal identity. The launch will feature an address by Katie Sutton, along with readings and an interview with the author. All attendees at the launch will receive a discount voucher for the book. Douglas invites members to share this notice with friends and colleagues who are interested.
