Book Launch, The Holocaust and Australian Journalism: Reporting and Reckoning

The Pavilion, Monash University, Monday 10 June 2024, 5.30pm to 7.00pm AEST

Join Fay Anderson for the launch of The Holocaust and Australian Journalism: Reporting and Reckoning (Palgrave Macmillan, 2024). The book explores the extent to which the news of the Holocaust was known and believed, shedding light on the ethics of reporting human suffering, violence and genocide. AHA members are invited to attend this vibrant cross-disciplinary conversation about the book’s key themes: the dynamic relationship between collective memory, the Holocaust, and journalistic acts of remembering and forgetting. Guest speakers include Bridget Griffin-Foley and Sally Young. They will be joined by Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation scholar David Slucki, and media, journalism, and history scholars from within and beyond the School of Media, Film and Journalism at Monash.
