The Australian Research Council issued a statement yesterday stating that preprints will now be allowed in applications for funding schemes but will not be retrospective. Anyone affected has to rely on the standard appeals process. Preprints are generally used in the sciences, however, in this instance the AHA was concerned about broader questions of transparency and process.
