Earlier this year, a group of historians assembled a Working Paper on Sustainable History intended to begin discussions among individuals and institutions in history about how to address the sustainability crisis. Since it was drafted and first circulated, responses to the rapid spread of Covid-19 have shown that it is possible to undertake much academic historical work in low-carbon modes. At the most recent Executive Committee Meeting, the Executive unanimously agreed to endorse this paper as means of opening conversations among academic historians. It can be found here.
