AHA 2022 Biennial Book and Thesis Prizes Applications Open

2022 is a big year for AHA prizes, with the full suite of biennial prizes (as well as annual prizes) on offer. All biennial prizes are now open for applications. Please note that intentions to submit for all prizes are due by the 30th of September 2021.

The Kay Daniels Award is a biennial prize recognising outstanding original research with a bearing on Australian convict history and heritage including in its international context. In accordance with Kay Daniels’ values, it is to be an international award. Applications close 31 January 2022. Further information

The Magarey Medal for Biography is awarded biennially to the female person who has published the work judged to be the best biographical writing on an Australian subject. The 2020 Medal will be awarded for a book published in 2020 or 2021. For the 2022 round, the Magarey Medal will be administered by the Association for the Study of Australian Literature (ASAL). The Serle Award is given to the best postgraduate thesis in Australian history. The 2022 Award will be granted for a thesis passed in the period 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2021. Applications close 31 January 2022. Further information
