The AHA sadly notes the passing of Dr Philippa Hetherington, who was a lecturer in the SchoolofSlavonic and East European Studies at University College London and a much-admired scholar of the history of the trafficking of women, particularly in Russia and the early Soviet Union. We send condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. Dr Hetherington was an award winning historian, with degrees from the University of Sydney and Harvard University, a supportive and inspiring colleague, and a prominent advocate for the funding of cancer treatments in the UK.
