Ink in Her Veins: The Troubled Life of Aileen Palmer

Forthcoming in March is Sylvia Martins’ Ink in Her Veins: The Troubled Life of Aileen Palmer (UWA Publishing). It is a portrait of the poet, translator, political activist, adventurer and daughter of Vance and Nettie Palmer who was a talented woman slowly brought down by war, family expectations, and psychiatric illness and the sometimes cruel ‘treatments’ common in the twentieth century.

Sylvia’s biography of Ida Leeson was awarded the Magarey Medal in 2008.
