Book Launch, Aboriginal Victorians: A History Since 1800

RHSV Gallery, Melbourne, Tuesday 13 February 2024, 5.30pm to 7.00pm AEDT

Richard Broome unveils the highly anticipated second edition of his double award-winning history, Aboriginal Victorians: A History Since 1800. The evening promises profound insights into the past, coupled with a celebration of culture and music. Singer songwriter and proud Butjulla, Gubbi Gubbi man Gavin Somers’ edgy blend of contemporary folk will provide the soundtrack to bring this history to life. The event will be launched by Gunditjmara woman Jill Gallagher AO, CEO of VACCHO (Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation), and guided by La Trobe University’s Indigenous Studies Professor Julie Andrews OAM, a Yorta Yorta and Woiwurrung woman and member of the Dhul-an-yagan family clan of the Ulupna people.
