For some time, the AHA has advocated for greater representation of historians on the governing councils of Australia’s national cultural institutions. We therefore warmly welcome and celebrate three recent, outstanding appointments. The Minister for the Arts, the Hon Tony Burke, recently announced the appointment of Ann McGrath to the National Museum of Australia Council, along with the appointment of Clare Wright (who has served on the Council since 2022) as its new Chair. These fantastic appointments follow the recent addition of AHA Immediate Past President Frank Bongiorno to the Advisory Council of the National Archives of Australia. The historical profession is fortunate to have three figures such as Ann, Clare and Frank sharing their experience and expertise with the National Museum and National Archives respectively. Congratulations, Ann, Clare and Frank!
