Congratulations to Julie Collins, Christeen Schoepf and Amanda Wells, recipients of the History Council of South Australia’s 2024 Annual Awards and Prizes. Julie was selected as SA Historian of the Year for her research and curatorial work at the University of South Australia. Christeen was awarded the Excellence in Oral History award for her role in establishing the ‘Story-Lab’ recording studio in Port Pirie. Amanda won the Wakefield Press Essay Prize for a brilliant essay, ‘Halting Chowilla Dam: Salt, Science, and River Murray Politics in the 1960s’. HSCA President Matthew Fitzpatrick thanks all winners and nominees, who have ‘poured their hearts into history projects across the state’. Congratulations to Julie, Christeen, Amanda and all of the winners and applicants!
