Cath Bishop has been awarded the 2016 Australian Religious History Fellowship for a project entitled ‘“She Has the Native Interests Too Much at Heart”: Gender, Religion and Race in the Life of Annie Lock, Missionary to Aborigines 1903–1937’. Lock was a strident and divisive figure like her nemesis, Daisy Bates.
Mark Dunn has been awarded the 2016 CH Currey Memorial Fellowship for his project ‘Civilised or Savage: The Colonial Legacy of Robert and Helenus Scott’, which considers frontier violence.
