The latest DECRAs (Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Research Award) were announced last week. Warmest congratulations to Nicholas Ferns, Jessica Lake and Daozhi Xu for their successful applications and we wish them well with their projects! There was a 15% success rate this round. The AHA commiserate with our ECR members who missed out and remind you that success with these grants is no reflection on yourselves as historians or your scholarship but reflects a lack of adequate funding for the humanities. The AHA will continue to advocate for improved funding for historical research, especially for Early Career Researchers.
